Gyandeep Portal Admission 2024
Now children from poor families of Banka district of Bihar have got a new opportunity to study in a top private school. Earlier, private schools could arbitrarily choose whom to admit under the 25 percent quota. But now, any talented child coming from an economically deprived background will get a chance to take admission in more than 150 registered private schools for class 1st. Under this new system, 25 percent seats in the first class will be reserved for children from poor families.
The government will bear the expenses of their education in these private schools. To be eligible, the child must be from an economically weak family. Specifically, the annual income of families belonging to SC/ST communities should be less than Rs 1 lakh, while the annual income of economically backward families belonging to upper castes should be less than Rs 2 lakh. The objective of this initiative is to ensure that bright children, regardless of their economic status, can get good education in private schools in Banka district.

Gyandeep Portal launched
DPO SSA Ravi Kumar said that New Gyandeep Portal has been started to provide free enrollment facility in private schools to the children of poor families. The education department will oversee the enrollment process under the Right to Education (RTI) Act. Registration on Gyandeep portal is open till June 16. Online allotment of schools will be done on June 18 and 19, while the admission process including student verification is scheduled from June 20 to June 30.
The creation of Gyandeep Portal aims to eliminate arbitrary practices and ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the families effectively. Interested families can apply through the link given by the Education Department gyandeep-rte.bihar.gov.in. Under the RTE Act 2009, 25% seats in primary classes in private schools are reserved for economically disadvantaged students. Earlier, this process was managed by private schools, but arbitrariness was seen in its implementation.
Objective of Bihar Gyandeep Portal
Bihar Education Department has launched Bihar Gyandeep Portal, the main objective of which is to receive online applications from government school students who want to take admission in private schools. The objective of this initiative is to ensure that 25% of children from economically weaker sections can get education in private schools recognized under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act.
